The goal of Formula Hybrid is to learn, understand, and utilize hybrid technologies to design
and build a clean energy vehicle that is reliable, efficient, and competitive. To give
engineering students the opportunity to work across disciplinary boundaries and explore
their creativity while engineering and developing a hybrid electric race car, and to encourage
and promote the development of high-efficiency automotive drivetrains.
The Students:
The Team is comprised of
multiple hard working students from many different areas of the
university, including automotive, electrical, plastics engineering, and the
college of business. This
competition requires
the utmost dedication and therefore demands that the students evolve and
excel in their individual field/specialty while becoming competent in
disciplines that they may
not have had any formal training.
The Advisors:
Providing guidance, support, supervision, and encouragement, these dedicated
professors take
time out of their personal lives to assist the students. They also accompany
the team to competition and
act as the official representative of the University.
